Test Advice - BULATS

The Business Language Testing Service (BULATS) is alanguage assessment service specifically for the use of companies andorganisations. BULATS is for organisations which need a reliable way ofassessing the language ability of groups of employees or trainees.

The service is designed to test the language of employees who need touse a foreign language in their work, and for students and employees onlanguage courses or on professional/business courses where foreignlanguage ability is an important element of the course.

The BULATS Test is designed for companies and organisations. It is used to test the following four languages:

• English
• French
• German
• Spanish

The test has four sections. Each can be done separately.

• Computer test - about 60 minutes
• Standard test - on paper, 110 minutes
• Speaking - interview and presentation, 12 minutes
• Writing - two pieces of business writing, such as a letter or report, 45 minutes
