Teacher Lesson Plans - Ultimate Quiz
Introduction (5 minutes)
Explain to the class that today we will test everybody’s individual knowledge, and find out lots of juicy secrets about the class members. We will form a complete quiz with questions being designed by every student, and groups will attempt the answers.
Preparation (20 minutes)
Each student needs to think of 2 questions. The first question should be a ‘true/false’ choice, and based on someone else in the class. It’s a great chance to spill a secret or inform the class of an interesting fact about another member. The second question will be a multiple choice question with 4 possible answers. This should be a factual and unusual piece of knowledge about any subject, but something you don’t think many people know. Both questions should be quite difficult and must definably only have factual answers (don’t create questions based on personal choice).
After they have been created, ask the students to make groups of 4.
The quiz (60 minutes)
Run through all the True/false questions first, student by student. They should take turns to stand up and ask their question out loud. Other members can ask for them to repeat the question if necessary.
Have a couple of minutes break, and then go through the second round in the same way. Finally, add on a final round by asking the groups to draw the flags of any 4 countries you want.
Check the answers (15 minutes)
The teacher should read out the questions and answers again and the groups need to score themselves. This is usually very interesting as the class discover which pieces of gossip are really true.
