Teacher Lesson Plans - Picture Descriptions
Introduction (15 minutes)
Explain to the class the following basic description terms to do with 2D and 3D shapes and directions, and then describe a simple picture involving a couple of shapes. Ask the students to draw what they hear and then show them you own picture.
Task 1 (20 minutes)
Ask volunteer students to come to the front and describe other pictures whilst their teammates draw what they hear. You can use the provided pictures or make your own. Between each student the teacher should give feedback on how successful they were, and take the chance to explain the important of ordering information logically.
Task 2 (20 minutes)
The students can continue this exercise in pairs but making up their own shapes and eventually moving into more complex images such as magazine and personal photos.
