Finding lesson plans for students that are both fun and interesting is a real challenge, so we have decided to include our favourite ten lessons.
All these lessons have received great levels of student response, and focus on the various skills needed by English learners such as presentation, free speaking, critical thinking, descriptions and fluency.

Guilty : A game of quick thinking and requires thorough preparation of detail. This focuses on public speaking under pressure, and is great for questions and answers
Create a new country : Highly creative and interesting game which allows for group presentation and voting. All areas of a country are first discussed and then presented to the class for review
Futurology : An intelligent and stimulating look at the future of the world. This task focuses on using scientific English and can interest students greatly
Create a class film : By focusing on important components of a film, the class work towards creating a multi-genre film with various scenes. A fantastic role-play opportunity
Ultimate quiz : Students create their unique questions and quiz others in the class in a battle of general knowledge. The lesson is always fresh and different every time, and concentrates on the importance of clear speaking and listening
Debates : An introduction to the basic of debating with the micro-debates being used as practice, and ending in a group discussion. This can be very passionate and exciting for both student and teacher
Shark infested water : A role-play task which deals with the persuasive arguments. Students are assigned characters and must vote off members throughout the challenge, and often gets very heated indeed
Job application skills : Preparation for post-education job applications with instructions on how to create an English resume. The lesson then moves forward and practice interviews are acted out
Update your school : A creative lesson based on the idea of how a student would change their school or university, when placed in the role of the leader. This deals with a deeper understanding of the issues and is often very enlightening and motivating for students
Picture descriptions : Dealing with the idea of physical descriptions, the lesson pre-teaches 2D and 3D vocabulary and then concentrates on description techniques.
