English Idioms

A-Z of English Idioms

English idioms are used in all areas of the English language, but can be considered an especially important area of English learning resources when it comes to learning English through the act of speaking.

An idiom is a short phrase with its own specific meaning, and learning English idioms can help you to understand and become more like a native speaker.

Just to let all users know that I have started the comments again, after some heavy spamming. There is a recaptcha image to help with this, but it doesn't always work smoothly. Let me know if there are any problems.

Please tell me sir how can i speak english, i am very to speak enlish

Hi Sarmad Khan,

Speaking is a chance to get creative, and is best done with others. You need to find someone else you can use your new English skills with, through conversation and debate. Check and correct each other, and you will enjoy learning. I suggest spending about 30 minutes a day doing this, perhaps during a meal time.

Remember also that you need to combine this with the other areas of English; reading and writing. You should always build up your knowledge equally and in a balanced way.

I hope this helps!
