Pep's reason for learning English

A long time ago when I was 18 I spent my first holyday wiht some friends on the beach
there we met some Ducht girls who spoke English,I didn't speak anything of English
I learnt some words and I promised to myself that I would learn English for future opportunities

Now I'm glad to have done it because I like travelling and English is very useful.
I can read books (easy readers) I can wacht English films (Harry Potter for example)
and surfing on the internet and meeting new people,it's really encouraging.
In other words,I do it for pleasure.

Nice to meet you, where are you from? I'm from Italy.
I study English for pleasure too!! I've started learning it in high school and then continued by myself. I also use it in my work, but what I lack most is speaking ability.
Whatever are our reason for studying it, it's important we do it with joy!

Hi Pep,

Learning another language with the intention of improving communication has to be the best reason for doing so. I teach university students, of which some have lost interest because of the lack of chance to use what they have learned.

I would love to learn French again, and that would be a real pleasure.
