Konichiwa everyone,

I have just started to feel like myself today after having such a stuffy head for several days. Anyway, My system should be up and running like normal from now.

Climbing Mt Fuji? Wow! If it's going to be like climbing Mt Everett, then let me write my will first before another word is spoken. I watch a Discovery Channel on TV a lot and once in a while the program is all about the climbers risking their lives trying to fulfil their goals. It's amazing that some people actually survive the harsh temperature up there.

     What does Sayami mean?

Hi Cayte and everyone,

Mt. Fuji is not so high compared with Mt.Everest. It's twice as high than Mt. Fuji. Even though, some people feel bad and get mountain sickness when they climb higher.
I like discovery channel too. I am always surprised by such these aplinists and their guide.

I don't understand what does Sayami. If it is Sashimi, it is a slice of raw fish. Please give me more information about Sayami.

Sayami is a name of a baby I know. I should have asked her mother what exact it means but I have waited so long that it seems ignorance to pop up this question to her now. Since you're Japanese, perhaps you have some idea. I even love a sound of her middle name 'Skye'.

Hi Cayte,

I will try to guess the mean of her name.
Sayami can be divided Saya and mi. Saya shows bright and clear, sometime the sound of it makes us a calm impression. We often use saya for the moon light. Mi usually shows beautiful. So it is often used in girl's name.
How do you feel my explanation? Parents surely have special feelings to their daughter and her name, so it's only my imagination and just example.

p.s. Even if you can ask her parents directly, please don't say about my former reply (sashimi).  Tongue

I figure Sayami has a special meaning. For some reasons, I thought it had something to do with the moon and the sky; perhaps her middle name gave me some hints. Thanks for your interpretation, though. I promise (picky-swear) that I won't mention about Sashimi.

Now I have another name for you to work on. "Hideiko" This is from a very popular movie/drama in Thailand. It's a love story between a Japanes soldier named Kobori and a Thail girl. The neat thing about the lastest version of this movie is that everyone who played Japanese characters had to speak Japanese.  Oh, I want to boast more about this movie, but I have to leave for a meeting. Maybe next time.

Hello Cayte and cornus,

Wow, you two have an interesting discussion about Mt Fuji and the meaning of Japanese name while I am absent. Cheesy Thank you for describing about Mt. Fuji, cornus. You are really Shizuoka citizen!!
Actually, I don't know well about Mt. Fuji, since I live in west part of Japan.
One of my friend had ever climbed that mountain, and she told me that it is really hard to clime up to the top, on the other hand, she felt so much joy to achieve the goal.
After I heard about her story, I hope I could climb Mt. Fuji one day in my life.

Cayte, the name of "Hideiko" is woman's name? If so, it should be"Hideko".
Or man's name? if so, it should be " Hideo".
What's the name of this movie?
I'm eager to know about this. Shocked
