Hi All Members,
As a new moderator, let me introduce myself.
My name is Jane. Are you a little familiar with the name? It was take from a novel 'Jane Eyer',which was a very popular book.It was written by Charlotte Bronte,who was 19th century author. I haven't seen through to the end of the book, but I have seen that movie for many times and like it very much.
Do you have a story for your name? Let's enjoy it together.

Hi, Jane. Nice to talk with you. I am Kouki. I am new here. Yes, I am familiar with your name, and I definitely know about "Jane Eyer". I have read "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte(sister of Charlotte). This story really impressed on me. You seem to like reading an English classical book. I've started to read "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austin. The story is kind of love romance which the girls are willing to read. About my name, this name is related to the person I always respect. Hi Kouki,
You're right that I like English classical novels. But I have never seen through to the end of these novels as I haven't such patience and time. So I am not a real fan. Wuthering Heights ,Pride and Prejudice these movies were both good and seen several years ago.
I admire you can see through to the end and it will benefit for your reading skill. Did you feel it was helpful when you finished reading Wuthering Heights?
Hope to discuss with you the good books. Who is Kouki? Tell me more about it.

Glad to hear that you like books, me too. A classic book which has been my favourite for years is The Count of Monte Christo. Have either of you read this story?

I saw that movie,it was very great. I think there were many classical books in the past time, and now we have little such good books which are worth of us reading for many times. Do you agree with me?

Hi Luke,
I agree with you that Charlotte Bronte book is more suitable for women than men, as it inspired women to be independent and self-respect.
In my eye, Jane Eyre is an ordinary but unusual female. Though she is not very pretty,she is full of courage and wisdom. She is firm and decisive, and she dares to against to the unfair destiny. She earned love and respect from Mr. Rochester and other people by her fascinate character at last.
"...You think because I am poor and plain, I have no feelings? I promise you ,if God had gifted me with wealth and beauty, I would make it as hard for you to leave me now as it is for me to leave you. But he didn't. But my spirit can address yours, as if both have passed through the grave and stood before heaven equal." Jane's script, I like it very much.

I don't think that anyone has a perfect charactor as every one has their strength and weakness. As for me, I like man who is kind,wisdom and has a sense of humor. I like the man who is loyal to love, and keep wanting love even till die ,like Jack in Titanic, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet.
In reference to charactor,do you think" charactor decides destiny"?

Character decides destiny.
I agree with this, and I draw my main example from old people and how long they live. It seems to me that the number one characteristic for growing old is a positive frame of mind and a 'never give-up' attitude. Without this outlook, people die much earlier from less severe illnesses. Their ultimate destiny is shaped by who they are, and it is a lifelong characteristic. So yes, I agree.

Hi luke,
Myabe I used a wrong word. "Character decides fortune" means one's fate is determined by their character. When someone makes decision, they often judge by their personailty. Whether someone is successful or not, their personality will effect mainly the results. So some people think that one's character will shape their fortune. What do you think?
BTW, "destiny,fortune,fate" any difference among them?

I think character does decide fortune, for many of the reasons I described above. I sometimes which I could be more optimistic about things, as I predict it would make life more enjoyable and successful.
Destiny (usually a good thing)
Fate (similar to destiny but can also be a bad thing)
Fortune (not similar to either as it can be avoided - it refers to gain which is usually financial)
