Hi Luke and all,
I'm new here, I'd like to thank you for this website.

My favourite films (movie is Am.E., isn't it?) are "Cast Away" and "Forrest Gump". You know, Tom Hanks is my favourite actor.  Wink

I've seen a great film recently, "Once". Have you heard about it? Glen Hansard, the leader of The Frames and Marketa Irglova star in it. It's an Irish film with a very simple plot. The film is full of great music (if you like The Frames, of course Cheesy  By the way, Marketa and Glen got Oscar for "Once".

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best

Hi Golden Slumber !!!

I watched Once too, it is a musical with a romance at the background, Marketa was only 16 when the film was recorded, anyway she and Glenn are playing good roles there. Many people got disappointed as they were expecting something more, the film is full of feelings and sounds only, I noticed that scene when Marketa's friends go to there apartment just to watch a TV program, it was the only TV in the building...immigrant life isn't easy. Tongue

Hi GoldenSlumbers,

I love your name, and I read the explanation in the quick post box at the top of the page. I taught all day today and what I really want now is a golden slumber, it sounds fantastic!

I haven't seen that film, but will keep my eyes open for it thanks to your advice. A film I also really want to see is called "The Man From Earth," have you heard of it?

Hi BrazilianNew,

I hope you don't think I am butting in on your conversation, but I thought I would quickly check your writing.

I watched "Once" too, it is a musical with the side plot of a romance. at the background Marketa was only 16 when the film was recorded, but regardless of age, Glenn and Marketa both acted wonderfully and played fantastic roles. Many people were disappointed as they were expecting something more than just feelings and sounds. I also noticed realism as depicted in the scene when Marketa's friends go to their apartment just to watch a TV program and it was the only TV set in the whole building;  immigrant life isn't easy.

Hi BrazilianNew

That's fine, I hope you get something from my corrections. And by the way, both forms of practice are okay. I personally prefer the use of 'to practice,' but the choice is yours  Grin

Hi Luke !!!

Yesterday I watched the new Indiana Jones adventure Smiley, even though the first movies are better Tongue, this last one is fantastic for fans of action movies. It begins with Indy and a lot of Russians leadered by Irinia Spalko , Cate Blanchett in a different role, in search of a magic skull  ::)what will lead them to the wilderness and many dangers, in one remarkable scene they appear floating along the Iguaçu Waterfalls on South Brazil. To balance an old Indiana Jones, a prospective son appears resembling James Dean in the years 50, also Marion Ravenwood reappears and they will make a meeting in family in the forest later.
Anyway, despite the special effects and the action, the crystal skulls have nothing to do with the Western Culture what doesn't tie very much the plot, the Ark and the Graal in the former movies had a strong tie with our immagination.
These arguments doesn't mean that the movie is trash, I enjoyed it very much and really recommend to fans of the serial.

 I wish you a wonderful evening !!!

Hi BrazilianNew,

I haven't watched that film yet, but I sure will! I loved the trilogy as a kid  Smiley

Yesterday I watched the new Indiana Jones adventure. Even though the first movies were better, this last one is fantastic for fans of action movies. It begins with Indy and a lot of Russians leadered by Irinia Spalko, and has Cate Blanchett in a different role. The search this time is for a magic skull, and leads them into the wilderness and many dangers. In one remarkable scene they appear floating along the Iguaçu Waterfalls on South Brazil. To balance an old Indiana Jones, a prospective son appears resembling James Dean (from the 1950's). Marion Ravenwood also reappears and they will have a family meeting in family in the forest later.

However, these arguments doesn't mean that the movie is bad, as I enjoyed it very much and really recommend to fans of the serial.

Hi BN,
I haven't watched the film, yet, too. But I'd like to watch it very much.  Grin I've loved the stories since my childhood. I've heard it's not as good as the older parts.

About "ONCE" Had you heard The Frames before you watched the film? I love the band very much. And that was the reason why I watched the film.

I was at Glen's concert 2 years ago. That was fantastic! All the members of the band were very friendly, they spoke with us and greeted all the fans...I'd like to go to his concert again. But I haven't been at The Frames' concert yet, that's a pity Sad

Do you have any favourite bands? What's your favourite music?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best

Hi GoldenSlumbers,

Just a quick correction;

I haven't watched the film yet either, but I'd like to watch it very much.  I've loved the stories since my childhood but I've heard it's not as good as the older parts.

About "Once," had you heard of 'The Frames' before you watched the film? I love the band very much and that was the reason why I watched the film.

I was at Glen's concert 2 years ago and it was fantastic! All the members of the band were very friendly; they spoke with us and greeted all the fans. I'd like to go to his concert again but I haven't managed to go to The Frames' concert recently which is a real pity.

Do you have any favourite bands? What's your favourite music?

Hello GS  Smiley!!!

I had never heard about Glenn's band before the movie Tongue, I think he is well known in Ireland.
I enjoy Keane, an Indie band Rock very much, my favourite song is "Nothing in my way", the lyric is a little sad but they have a good beat what makes the song pleasant to listen.

Another good band is Skorpions, they will perform a Concert in my city on October in a theater, it is better than in stadiums where you find drunkers and can't sit all the time. In a theater it is better as you buy your ticket and watch them sat down.

Other good bands are Jethro Tull singing Mother Goose , they tell about famous places in London in a good melody.

Where are you from ? Ireland ?

Hi BrazilianNew,

I like Keane too, but I don't know much about Skorpions. Just a couple of corrections.
