A question I often like to ask, and the topic for this weeks homework, is;

Who is your inspiration?

Word limit: 150

Write about whoever your like, why they have had such an impact on you, and how it has changed you. Good luck!

The person who inspires me most is neither the greatest nor the famous, but my polio friend.We have known each other since the age of eight. Because of his condition, I did not talk much about sport activities in front of him for fear of hurting his feeling. we discussed homework mostly or something lighter such as movies or songs. This had been my method of making him feel part of us  each time we were together until one day. We were doing a project in a class-room and were so absorbed in it that we did not realise it was time to go home. When we were done and leaving the class room, we realised that the school bus had left without us. The worst thing was we had no money left in our pockets and the only way to get home was to walk 6 km. 6 km, it is a very long way I told myself this. While I was still troubled by this 6 km walk in my head, my polio friend suddenly said this " come on, let' us walk all the way home." Since that moment onwards, he and his few little words have been been my source of inspirations. And he is still my best pal.

One of my inspirations is Buddhadasa Bhikkhu.  He is a famous Buddhist monk in Thailand who wrote many dharma books.  I have never met him but I read some of his books.  The first sentence that I was impression is “Working is practice dharma”.  In the past, I think if I want to practice dharma, I have to go to the temple.  When I read this sentence, I was glad because I can practice dharma at my home and my office.  I didn’t need to the temple.  Then, I read his books more.  And one important sentence that made me change my character is “Be neglect the bad things of people and choose only the good things of them.”   I used to upset with people who do bad things with me but after I read his books, I have felt calm.  I have tried to think the good things of people and forgive the bad thing that they did with me.  Now he have been passed away for many years but his books still are best seller in Thailand and some are translated in English.
