I never heard this word. I have seen it a couple of time in my previous forum and would like to know the meaning of the same and  when should we use it.

Thanks,

Hi Learneng,

Satire is a form of comedy. It is usually linked with literature, but it doesn't have to be. Satire is mainly concerned with laughing at someone else by pointing out their faults, stupidity or folly. It can range in strength from simply pointing out a small issue for fun, or to complete ridicule of something without any real intention to make the listener laugh.

For example;

Friends is not a satire, but may use satire when laughing at the character's faults.
I'm not sure if you've seen it, but The Office is a strong satire.
