Present simple

This is the practice thread for the present simple tense. Include your sentence as a reply to this thread and I'll check it.

The present simple tense follows the pattern of subject + base form
It is used in the following ways;

Facts – The sun sets in the west
Directions – Walk south for about fifty yards and you are there
Headlines – Iraq invades America!
Habit – I run fifty laps every night
Story – I hit the witch with my wand
Commentary – Davis sinks the pink with style

Very good attempt, with some small changes to the last example. But regarding the tense, all correct.

Hi Kouki,

Welcome to the forum! Tenses can be hard, and grammar is just as important when getting them correct. Many of my corrections are grammatical, not related to the tense.

Walk due north along this street and you are home (remember this must be present tense). 
Severe earthquake strikes China. 
I drive home after work everyday. 
I work as a speech therapist in a hospital.

The Saudi Arabia extracts an enormous quantity of oil every day
I use to drink a cappuccino for breakfast
The wolf eats the Little Red Riding Hood
