This is the practice thread for the present perfect continuous tense. Include your sentence as a reply to this thread and I'll check it.

The present perfect continuous tense is of the form subject + auxiliary verb 'have' + been + verb(ing)
It is used in the following ways;

Ongoing activities and how long – We’ve been saving for a car since 1990
Recently finished activity – I going home because I’ve been working all day

I have been drinking tea since morning.
I have been thinking about what to do next.
She has been complaining about the weather.
We have been planning for a holiday but nothing is finalizing.
I have been waiting for summer warmer weather so I can sow the seeds.

I have been making plans for this weekend since Monday.
My dog has been wagging her tail for 10 minutes now for cookies.
I have been lazing around for quite a while.
My dogs have been playing and enjoying each other's company.
She has been talking non-stop for fifty minutes now.

Hi Learneng,

Still going strong! I quite enjoy being tested on these, as my university students don't ask much about them. It makes for a nice change.

I have been making plans for this weekend since Monday. Smiley
My dog has been wagging her tail for cookies for 10 minutes now (it's easier to comprehend the situation with the reason why being placed first, and the time second)
I have been lazing around for quite a while. Smiley
My dogs have been playing and enjoying each other's company. Smiley
She has been talking non-stop for fifty minutes now. (ha ha, who is this?) Grin
