This is the practice thread for the past perfect continuous tense. Include your sentence as a reply to this thread and I'll check it.

The past perfect continuous tense is of the form subject + had + been + verb(ing)
It is used in the following way;

Actions which took place up to the past moment of discussion – By the time Luke handed in unit 6, he had been working on it for 5 days

I had been drinking tea until she arrived.
I wasn't clear about the root cause of the deviation after reading the deviation it made sense.
I drove for two hours to come to work.
He was uncertain about it but now he made up his mind.
I was stopping my self from sending that nasty email but i decided to send it after reading his reply.

Hi Learneng,

This tense is quit exact in what it requires. You should use the form subject + had + been + verb(ing)

I had been drinking tea until she arrived. Smiley
I hadn't been clear about the root cause of the deviation after reading the deviation it made sense.
I had been driving for two hours to come to work.
He had been uncertain about it but now he made up his mind.
I had been stopping myself from sending that nasty email but I decided to send it after reading his reply.

Oops...I think I might read the description of other tense and got confused with past perfect continuous.

I'll write five more sentences by tomorrow (hopefully the right ones).

She had been complaining about the workload until boss entered the room.
They had been waiting for her when she arrived at the bus stop.
The water had been dripping from the tap until my husband fixed it.
I had been making mistakes in past perfect continuous sentences before the teacher's explanation.
We had been busy discussing about the politics when she came.

Hi Learneng,

More than anything with these mistakes you'll notice I changed the order. It's more natural this way, to place the present tense action first.

She had been complaining about the workload when the boss entered the room.
As she arrived at the bus stop she found they had been waiting for her (I swapped the order)
As my husband knelt on the wet floor he noticed the water must had been dripping for some time. (order)
Before my teacher's explanation, I had been making mistakes in past perfect continuous sentences. (order)
We had been busily discussing about the politics for hours when she finally arrived.
