Hi All and Luke,

I am glad to hear that Luke will come back. I think most members here have the same feeling as me. To correct errors is a huge job, additionally it is free, it needs a lot of enthusiasm and energy, but Luke did it for us so that we had a good forum. Now Luke must encounter some problems, let's start a brain storm to give Luke some advices.

I suggest that Luke just correct the board"the writing example", the other boards can be discussed freedom. Next we can be a writer for a month in turn, Luke correct both the writer's writing and the other's comments to the writer. Next... What do you think? Do you have a good idea?

Hi Jane,

Yes, I also agree with you that Luke doesn't have to correct all the posts. We can also make a rule for a new member that they need to write certain number of posts before they become eligible for posting in the writing section. That would control the number of posts in that section.

Also, lets go for small posts (one liners) so it won't take much of his time in corrections. I have a couple of ideas for the games section, I think we should start some more topics in that section.

Well, this is what we think but we need to know Luke's opinion on this before we can start anything.

Hi Leering,

I do agree with Leering, but if you don't mind, I have a different opinion which we can limit the paragraph in 200 words, not just a line,as it is a helpful to practice writing skill.

Another suggestion we can ask members to post only one thread which is corrected every day.

Hi Jane,

They can posts as many posts as they want in the other parts of the forum but we should limit one post a day in the writing section.

The reason I wrote that writing section should be limited to the senior members of the forum is to limit the number of posts ( I'm telling this from my experience in different forum, there new members need to write a fixed number of posts to get the authorization to write in writing section). Number of posts and visitors will increase the ads on the forum and that will help Luke to keep this forum alive.

Hi Jane and learneng,

I agree whit you ,we should do something for him in the  same way he does for us.
I'm sure he spents lots of  time correcting mistakes.
We could limit the writing section for correcting mistakes only.
About writng a fix number of posts it may work, but how many?

Anything we do for keeping this forum alive will be good.

I agree with Pep regarding a writing section, which should be the one that Luke can go in to correct as his time allows. We (both senior members and the new ones) can post anything we want in order keep the forum alive just like what you guys have already mentioned. Everyone can answer a particular question being asked on specific topic; we all can learn at the same time. You'll be surprised to know that somebody else might know something more than you do and that definitely help you learn quicker.

There have been several times that I remember certain words or rule of grammars by the other erudite people and it sticks in my mind longer than I learn it by myself.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for thinking of me and opening this thread. It's very thoughtful, and has given me some ideas about how to progress.

For now I think I can handle the writing section (with the 150-word limit per person, per day). This is for everyone, newbies included (as is the homework section). I will also open another writing section with a larger word limit for moderators and regular posters, only accessible to them for now.

I'll assign moderators to the chat and games topics, to oversee and reply to the posts. A very sincere thanks to Learneng, Cayte, Jane and Little Butterfly for offering to help with this.

With regards to the quick chat system, I'll be online for an hour or so a day, but no longer in the evening  (4-6pm GMT). Most likely I'll be available either from 12-2am, or 9-11am GMT (but probably not both times every day).

I hope that's okay with everyone, and thanks again for your support.

Hi Luke,

English, baby! is a good English learning website and has a lot of traffic. Now it has a new function which can be linked. Thus we can have Daily English Lesson on our website. I think it can increase our traffic and add the site value. The link is http://www.englishbaby.com/syndication ,you can go there to see whether it is helpful.

Hi Luke,

In order to increase the amount of posts on the board which I am in charge, I suggest that some descriptions can be changed:

1. What's your full name?
Introduce yourself to us with your full name. Any story about  your name or the others' name, tell us.
2.Where do you come from?
Tell us about your home country and city. We can talk about the history, the culture and the best place you've gone.
3. When's your birthday?
Talk about your birthday, any topic related with the birthday like astrology, personality and blood type.
