Hi Luke,

I like idioms quite a lot ,the first one I heard  it was "it's raining cats and dogs" I now know
what it means and it sounds funny anaway.
I've lately read something about "red herring or as a red herring" I'm afraid there's nothing
to do wiht herrings,right?

I've also seen on a t-shirt the words "road and roll"  is it an idiom?

And the word "ain't" when do you use it?

please correct my mistakes when you answer back.

Hi Pep,

You are correct, a red herring is nothing to do with actual herrings. It is a fake example intended to trick or deceive.

Rock and roll is a music genre (style), not an idiom. These days people just say rock, as in rock music (although closely linked, rock and rock and roll are not exactly the same)

Ain't means the same as aren't / not. It is colloquial spoken English, and very informal. It actually is rather uneducated, and not good English.
