Chinese Myths

As an English teacher in China who has recently had a baby, I've found lots of myths and beliefs here connected with pregnancy and having children, all of which are fascinating.

I have included these myths as a category in English learning resources for you to read and think about. You can comment about whether or not you think they are true, and why people believe what they do.

Chinese culture is very interesting and still quite traditional. Alhough people are becoming much more Westerized here, and many of these urban legends are being lost, most older citizens still strongly believe in the myths I've included.
